About Me
Claire's work explores the thresholds that give life meaning, plumbing the intersections of the individual and culture, spirituality and embodiment, intuition and intellect. As an Episcopal priest in an interfaith marriage, leading a church and Reggio-inspired school in the most secular part of the country, her writing draws from the deep wells of Christian thought, psychological research, and contemporary writing on health and wellness. Claire is deeply committed to the flourishing of each person, the well-being of our communities, and our reconnection with the natural world.
Claire's writing has appeared in On Being, Fidelia Magazine, and the Los Altos Town Crier. Her first poems, exploring the thin line between the human body and the bodies of land within which we make our lives, will be published by The Awakenings Review in spring 2026. From 2022-2024 she co-hosted the Vital+Thriving Congregations podcast. Before pursuing theological education, Claire co-wrote and co-produced the award-winning documentary film Miss Representation, exploring the limited representations of women in American media. Miss Representation premiered at Sundance Film Festival and aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
Claire earned her Master's of Divinity from Yale Divinity School (2014) and her Bachelors of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and International Studies from Duke University (2007). She is a priest in the Episcopal Church, a Certified Trauma Professional (Evergreen Certifications), and offers marital and premarital counseling as a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator. She currently serves as Rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Los Altos, CA and Chaplain to Ventana School.
